Description
Fire Escape Chute
An escape chute is a fabric tube fixed at an upper floor that lets people descend under control when stairs are blocked by fire or smoke. It needs no power, no training for the user, and works when lifts have already shut down.
- Continuous descent — several people can evacuate one after another
- Braking is provided by the chute itself, so no operator is needed at the bottom
- Suits schools, hospitals, offices, hostels and factory upper floors
- Installed with the anchoring and access arrangement the building requires
Survey and installation
Chute length and mounting depend on floor height and the opening available. JIC surveys the building, supplies the chute and installs the mounting.
